IPA: /ˈxuj/, /ˈxuj/ [Middle, Polish] Forms: chuy [alternative], huy [alternative], huj [alternative, proscribed]
Rhymes: -uj Etymology: Etymology tree Proto-Indo-European *skwey- Proto-Indo-European *skowy-ós Proto-Balto-Slavic *skaujás Proto-Slavic *xȗjь Old East Slavic хуй (xuj) Old Ruthenian *хуй (*xuj)bor.? ▲ Proto-Slavic *xȗjь Old Polish *chuj? Polish chuj Uncertain, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *xȗjь. This word in noun 1 sense 1 was not attested until 1806 (however, Wacław Potocki of Łużna [Lesser Poland] used it in his texts from 1669 and 1677), and was only an urban word. For this reason, Sławski considered the word to be a borrowing from Old Ruthenian *хуй (*xuj), from Old East Slavic хуи (xui), from Proto-Slavic *xȗjь. However, the Old Polish proper nouns Chuj and Łupichuj [since 1471; the latter being synonymous with Łupipyje, with the second element from pyje (“penis”)] suggest that this word is inherited from Old Polish *chuj, from Proto-Slavic *xȗjь. Cognate to Silesian chuj and Kashubian chùj. False cognate of Spanish chuj. False cognate of Spanish chuj.",

False cognate of Spanish chuj.",

False cognate of Spanish chuj.",

"etymology_text": "Etymology tree\nProto-Indo-European *skwey-\nProto-Indo-European *skowy-ós\nProto-Balto-Slavic *skaujás\nProto-Slavic *xȗjь\nOld East Slavic хуй (xuj)\nOld Ruthenian *хуй (*xuj)bor.?\n▲\nProto-Slavic *xȗjь\nOld Polish *chuj?\nPolish chuj\nUncertain, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *xȗjь. False cognate of Spanish chuj.",

False cognate of Spanish chuj.",

False cognate of Spanish chuj.",
