"py" meaning in Egyptian

See py in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Proper name

IPA: /piː/ (note: modern Egyptological) Forms: p-anx-i-i [canonical, masculine]
Etymology: According to von Beckerath, from Meroitic *𐦧𐦢 (*pi, “to live”), with the ankh glyph in the name merely serving as a determinative. Leprohon instead interprets the name as pꜣ (“O”) + ꜥnḫy (“living one”), but notes that the reading is uncertain and considers it possible that the ankh is to be read as a prospective form of the verb ꜥnḫ (“to live”). In this case the name is indeed simply py and the ankh is not a part of it.
