Noun [Proto-Celtic]

Etymology: Possibly cognate with Proto-Balto-Slavic *warnás (“raven”). In view of the formal difficulty that a change of *wr- to *br- would be irregular in Celtic, Matasović considers it more likely that this is a loanword from an unknown (substrate?) source.
