Der Wanst hat zwei Öffnungen, deren obere in den Schlund, die untere größere aber in die nächste Abtheilung, die Haube führt. — Bei säugenden Kälbern ist der Wanst kleiner als der Labmagen. — Die Haube oder der Netzmagen ist die kleinste Abtheilung, hat eine rundliche Gestalt und drei Öffnungen, wovon eine zum Schlund, eine zum Wanst und die dritte, aber sehr enge, zum Psalter führt.
