"Plavis" meaning in Latin

See Plavis in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Proper name

IPA: [ˈpɫa.wɪs] [Classical-Latin], [ˈplaː.vis] (note: modern Italianate Ecclesiastical)
Etymology: Perhaps a borrowed from Venetic source, which itself may have inherited the word from Proto-Indo-European *plówis f (“flow”), from *plowós (“flowing”) + *-is, the former of which derives from *plew- + *-ós. If this theory were accepted, it would provide additional evidence for a Venetic sound change of *owV > *awV, for which see also Latin Dravus and Venetic 𐌇𐌏𐌔𐌕𐌉𐌇𐌀𐌅𐌏𐌔 (hostihavos).
