Adjective [Norwegian Nynorsk]

IPA: /stæʃk/ Forms: stærske [definite, plural, singular], stærskar [comparative], stærskast [indefinite, superlative]
Etymology: Rebracketing of sterk. Same source as Jamtish stærsk. The e-sound before r sounding like æ is very common for most of Norwegian pronounce variations, but the change e->æ itself is particularly very common for Trøndelag dialect. The sound r in Trøndelag dialect is changing into sj before s, k, t or p. Due to this change, the sound combination rk can be understood and written as sjk or rsk, and vice versa (see e.g. kjersk).
