"alac" meaning in Romanian

See alac in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Noun

IPA: /aˈlak/
Etymology: Probably from Latin alica through a Vulgar Latin root *alaca (compare Spanish álaga), or alternatively from Hungarian alakor, but this itself has no other explanation then being derived from Romanian, unless, formally less likely, connected to the Hurro-Urartian family of Arabic خُلَّر (ḵullar). Others have suggested a connection with Albanian akuë or lakër, from Ancient Greek.
