"korvajь" meaning in Proto-Slavic

See korvajь in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Noun

Etymology: Either from *korva (“cow”) + *-jь or less likely from Pre-Slavic *korvъ (“curved”) + *-ajь, effectively cognate with Latin curvus. The lemma is found mainly throughout East and South Slavic. West Slavic only employs the synonym Proto-Slavic *kolačь. The etymology from *korva is based on the assumption that kravais are given to the bride during wedding as a symbol of fertility (associated with cows). "etymology_text": "Either from *korva (“cow”) + *-jь or less likely from Pre-Slavic *korvъ (“curved”) + *-ajь, effectively cognate with Latin curvus. The lemma is found mainly throughout East and South Slavic. West Slavic only employs the synonym Proto-Slavic *kolačь.\nThe etymology from *korva is based on the assumption that kravais are given to the bride during wedding as a symbol of fertility (associated with cows).",
