Dozy sees *سیاه داوران (*siyāh-i dāwarān, “black [habit of] judges”), Corriente or his ghostwriters in the same a reinterpretation of *سیاه درون (*siyāh-i darūn, “black insides”). We may suspect instead that the present plant name preserves some word’s unattested byform as is recognized for پرسیاوشان (parsiyāwušān).
