Verb

IPA: /pɔːjt͡ɕ/ (note: 10ᵗʰ–15ᵗʰ CE), /pojt͡ɕ/ (note: 15ᵗʰ CE)
Etymology: From po- + ić. The shift of -o- to -ó- is due to frequent use of the word. /ɔ/ usually shifted to /o/ in closed syllables (compare łoże, łożyć -> łóżko) except in prefixes and adpositions. The frequency of the word highly lexicalized it, causing the shift. Compare Middle Polish dójść (modern dojść). First attested in the 15th century. First attested in the 15th century.",
