"անդրուար" meaning in Old Armenian

See անդրուար in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Noun

Etymology: Perhaps an Iranian borrowing with a basic meaning “a cart with covered interior”, composed of Iranian *andar- (“interior”) and *var- (“to cover”); both constituents are found in անդրավարտիք (andravartikʻ). Alternatively, the first part *անդր (*andr) could have meant “cart, wagon”, inherited from Proto-Indo-European *h₁ndʰ-ur- (“road”) with Old Norse ǫndurr (“snow-shoe”) and Sanskrit अध्वन् (ádhvan, “road”) as cognates; the second part could then indeed be from Iranian *var- (“to cover”) or *var- (“to lead”), whence վարեմ (varem), or a contamination of both. Ałayan connects with անուր (anur, “ring”), but this is considered implausible by Martirosyan.
