"վազ" meaning in Middle Armenian

See վազ in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Noun

Forms: vaz [romanization]
Etymology: From Old Armenian վազ (vaz, “leap, jump, springing forward; run, running”). The basic sense is "something that has sprung forward, new shoot". Compare Russian побе́г (pobég) from бежа́ть (bežátʹ), English sprout (“to spring up; new growth on a plant”) for similar formations. The sense "shoot (of vine)" must have existed already in Old Armenian, from which Old Georgian ვაზი (vazi, “shoot”) was borrowed.
