Even though the participle is formally derived from *streyg- (because of the lack of -n-), its meaning of “tightened, compressed” developed from the second root.",

Even though the participle is formally derived from *streyg- (because of the lack of -n-), its meaning of “tightened, compressed” developed from the second root.",
