Noun

Etymology: From *πƒπ…πŒΉπŒΊπŒ½πŒΎπŒ°πŒ½ (*swiknjan) + -πŒ΄πŒΉπŒ½πƒ (-eins). It should be noted that each of the apparent attestations of this word (all in the accusative singular) could also be forms of πƒπ…πŒΉπŒΊπŒ½πŒ΄πŒΉ (swiknei, β€œpurity”), which is attested unambiguously elsewhere (in the nominative singular) and is thus confirmed to exist. However, at least the three attestations in the Skeireins fragments do seem in their context to be meant to be interpreted as purification rather than purity, which would point to the existence of this word as separate from the aforementioned πƒπ…πŒΉπŒΊπŒ½πŒ΄πŒΉ (swiknei).
