"tatar" meaning in Estonian

See tatar in All languages combined, or Wiktionary

Noun

Etymology: From dialectal Russian тата́рка (tatárka). Russian stem has been common root of borrowing for the tatari as well. The stem that marked the nation has also become to mark the grain, associated with that nation. It has been suggested that "tatter", as present in the older orthography and dialects, is borrowing from some unknown dialectal form of Low German: compare with dialectal German Tatterkorn. From Estonian it is loaned into Estonian-Swedish as tattar and possibly to Salaca Livonian tatar. Boomerang-loaning is registered in Russian dialect of Iisaku [script needed] (tátra) (from the genitive form tatra). "etymology_text": "From dialectal Russian тата́рка (tatárka). Russian stem has been common root of borrowing for the tatari as well. The stem that marked the nation has also become to mark the grain, associated with that nation.\nIt has been suggested that \"tatter\", as present in the older orthography and dialects, is borrowing from some unknown dialectal form of Low German: compare with dialectal German Tatterkorn. From Estonian it is loaned into Estonian-Swedish as tattar and possibly to Salaca Livonian tatar. Boomerang-loaning is registered in Russian dialect of Iisaku [script needed] (tátra) (from the genitive form tatra).",
