Noun

IPA: [qɑjˈmɑq] Forms: qaymaq [romanization], no-table-tags [table-tags], ҡаймаҡ [absolute, singular-only], ҡаймаҡтың [definite, genitive, singular-only], ҡаймаҡҡа [dative, singular-only], ҡаймаҡты [accusative, definite, singular-only], ҡаймаҡта [locative, singular-only], ҡаймаҡтан [ablative, singular-only]
Etymology: Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kańak (“kaymak”), which is possibly a suffix-derived noun from an unattested verbal stem *qaj̃- with the affix -maq. The alternative form qayaq ~ qaj̃aq ~ qanaq, which is attested in Old Turkic and in some of the Siberian Turkic languages, appears to have derived from the same verb stem with the different affix -aq. Cognate with Kazakh қаймақ (qaimaq, “cream”), Kyrgyz каймак (kaymak), Southern Altai каймак (kaymak), Karachay-Balkar къаймакъ (qaymaq), Uzbek qaymoq, Uyghur قايماق (qaymaq), Azerbaijani qaymaq, Turkish kaymak (“creamy dairy product”), Northern Altai каймак (kaymak), etc. Etymology templates: {{glossary|Inherited}} Inherited, {{inh|ba|trk-pro|*kańak||kaymak|g=|g2=|g3=|id=|lit=|nocat=|pos=|sc=|sort=|tr=|ts=}} Proto-Turkic *kańak (“kaymak”), {{inh+|ba|trk-pro|*kańak||kaymak}} Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kańak (“kaymak”), {{cog|kk|қаймақ||cream}} Kazakh қаймақ (qaimaq, “cream”), {{cog|ky|каймак}} Kyrgyz каймак (kaymak), {{cog|alt|каймак}} Southern Altai каймак (kaymak), {{cog|krc|къаймакъ||tr=qaymaq}} Karachay-Balkar къаймакъ (qaymaq), {{cog|uz|qaymoq}} Uzbek qaymoq, {{cog|ug|قايماق}} Uyghur قايماق (qaymaq), {{cog|az|qaymaq}} Azerbaijani qaymaq, {{cog|tr|kaymak||creamy dairy product}} Turkish kaymak (“creamy dairy product”), {{cog|atv|каймак}} Northern Altai каймак (kaymak) Head templates: {{head|ba|noun|head=|tr=}} ҡаймаҡ • (qaymaq), {{ba-noun}} ҡаймаҡ • (qaymaq)
