"text": "جوذر: الجيم مفتوحة والذال معجمة مفتوحة والراء مهملة. سليمان بن حسان: هي شجرة صغيرة مشوّكة لا ارتفاع لها أغصانها حمر وهي غليظة الأصل وورقها شبيه بورق الكمثري البري وله ثمر أغبر اللون مدور يؤكل قابض عاقل للبطن ويعمل منه سويق كما يعمل السويق من النبق لسيلان البطن وهذا النبات كثير بالزاب وناحية القيرون. أبو العباس الحافظ: ثمر الجوذر على ضربين والشجرة واحدة منه ما يكون ثمره على شكل ثمر السدر ونواه لاطىء ولونه أخضر ثم يحمر إذا انتهى حمرة مسكية مليحة وطعمه مر ومنه ما ثمره لاطىء مستدير عدسي الشكل أخضر ثم يحمر إذا انتهى اسود ويحلو وقبل ذلك هو مر قابض جداً، وهذا ينتهي في فصل الربيع، والعدسي ينتهي في فصل الشتاء ويسمى الثمر المستدير منه بالبرية تارخت، والعدسي منه يسمى الصمخ ويؤكل ببرقة والقيروان وببلاد البربر كثيراً وشجره في العظم والقدر على قدر شجر زعرور الأودية إلا أن الجوذر أعظم وأكبر وورقها كورق تلك أو نحو ذلك وعودها أحمر.",
