"μολγός" meaning in Ancient Greek

Noun

IPA: /mol.ɡós/, /molˈɣos/, /molˈɣos/, /mol.ɡós/ (note: 5ᵗʰ BCE Attic), /molˈɡos/ (note: 1ˢᵗ CE Egyptian), /molˈɣos/ (note: 4ᵗʰ CE Koine), /molˈɣos/ (note: 10ᵗʰ CE Byzantine), /molˈɣos/ (note: 15ᵗʰ CE Constantinopolitan)
Etymology: Differs from Proto-Germanic *malhō (“leather bag”), which is from Proto-Indo-European *molko- (“leather pouch”), only in the velar and accent. It has therefore been assumed that the Greek word is a borrowing, perhaps from Thracian. Also Gothic 𐌱𐌰𐌻𐌲𐍃 (balgs, “wineskin”) and Proto-Celtic *bolgos (“sack, bag”) have been compared, in which case the Greek word must have been phonetically influenced by ἀμέλγω (amélgō, “to milk”).
