In the sources from the 15th century however, it is seen that this term describes a musical group. The term \"çalıcı\" (player) in the phrase çalıcı mehter, emerged especially during Mehmed II's reign, fell off use in time and mehter settled in the colloquial use as a term that refers to the band by itself.",

The term \"çalıcı\" (player) in the phrase çalıcı mehter, emerged especially during Mehmed II's reign, fell off use in time and mehter settled in the colloquial use as a term that refers to the band by itself.",
