Adjective [Proto-Finnic]

Etymology: Related to *keerdäk, either as a back-formation or derivative with *-ra (~ *kierrä, which some descendants appear to support). Has also been compared with words in other Uralic languages, e.g. Hungarian kerül, but the long vowel cannot be inferred from the reconstructed Proto-Uralic form *kerä. Within Finnic contrast also *kerä (“ball of string”), *kääridäk (“to wrap”).
