  1. (Ìṣẹ̀ṣe) a form of divination consisting of the casting of sixteen cowries (ẹyọ). It is primarily by all priests of the orisha; with the exception of babalawos (Ifá priests to divinate to their respective orishas (ex. Èṣù, Ọbàtálá), however, the tool can still be used to consult Ifá. It also consists of a different order of the Odù (in comparison to the Odù Ifá).
