Noun

IPA: [treˈwɔɦɐ] Audio: Uk-тривога.ogg
Etymology: Inherited from Old Ruthenian триво́га, трыво́га (trivóha, tryvóha) (att. in 1574), initially attested as трво́га (trvóha) in 1538, most likely from Old Polish trwoga, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *trъvoga, from *trъvati. Alternatively, considering the Russian sources, ultimately inherited from Proto-Slavic *trьvoga with uncertain etymology. However, since Russian трево́га (trevóga) was first attested only in the first third of XVIII, it was probably itself borrowed from Old Ruthenian трево́га (trevóha). "etymology_text": "Inherited from Old Ruthenian триво́га, трыво́га (trivóha, tryvóha) (att. in 1574), initially attested as трво́га (trvóha) in 1538, most likely from Old Polish trwoga, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *trъvoga, from *trъvati. Alternatively, considering the Russian sources, ultimately inherited from Proto-Slavic *trьvoga with uncertain etymology. However, since Russian трево́га (trevóga) was first attested only in the first third of XVIII, it was probably itself borrowed from Old Ruthenian трево́га (trevóha).",
