One inscription from Sora contains the form POLOVCTA, which theoretically preserve an older unmonopthongized *-ow-, in which case the Proto-Italic pre-form could not have *-oi. However, this evidence is not reliable: The same inscription also contains monotphongized VOTO (< *woweto-), and evidence from the surrounding regions also attests to early monophthongization. Thus, the form from Sora is probably a deliberate archaism, or perhaps an accurate representation of a phonological development particular to that dialect whereby *oi became *ou. Within Latin, related to polliceor. Compare also other verbs of offering with the prefix por-, such as porriciō (“to make an offering of”) and porrigō (“to offer, hold out”).",

Thus, the form from Sora is probably a deliberate archaism, or perhaps an accurate representation of a phonological development particular to that dialect whereby *oi became *ou.
