Etymology: Probably related with German Fotze, Dutch vot, and hence a doublet of Central Franconian Fott (“butt, arse”). The -n- may be due to mere sporadic nasalisation, but may also stem from Old High German funs (“willing, eager, excited”). Compare Old English fūs.
