Proper name

IPA: /su.qutˤ.raː/
Etymology: In respect of the age of the name, the derivation is not set in stone, but one thinks of سُوق (sūq, “market”) + قَطْرَة (qaṭra, “drop”), respectively a corresponding Old South Arabian or Modern South Arabian combination, due to the trading port basing its economy around the plantation of aloe, dragon blood trees, frankincense and such resins.
