Adjective [Ashkun]

IPA: /vɘd̪ú/
Etymology: From Proto-Nuristani *ubā́ dū́ (whence Waigali übẽ, Kamkata-viri vedü, ṓdü, avdiú), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *HubʰáH dwáH, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂ubʰóh₁ dwóh₁, from *h₂ubʰóh₁ (“both”) (whence Avestan 𐬎𐬠𐬀 (uba), Old Persian 𐎢𐎲𐎠 (u-b-a /ubā/), Sanskrit उभा (ubhā́)/उभौ (ubháu), Ancient Greek ἄμφω (ámphō), Latin ambō) + *dwóh₁ (“two”) (whence dú). Less likely from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Habʰí (“to, towards”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂m̥bʰí (“around”), but this is problematic due to semantic differences.
