According to Buck, in Oscan the Proto-Italic first-declension nominative singular ending *-ā changes in quality to a sound similar to [ɔː], which was written as ΓΊ ⟨𐌞⟩ (representing [o]) or, more rarely, u βŸ¨πŒ–βŸ©.
