Noun [Korean]

IPA: [ka̠ɕʰina̠] [SK-Standard, Seoul] Forms: gasina [romanization]
Etymology: First attested in the Childae manbeop (七大萬法 / 칠대만법), 1569, as Middle Korean 가ᄉᆞ나ᄒᆡ (Yale: kasonahoy). The word was already dialectal in Middle Korean, and is not attested in any other Middle Korean source. Unusually, parts of the Childae manbeop are not written in the Seoul prestige dialect that provides the main attestation of Middle Korean, but in the Gyeongsang dialect.
