Noun [Arabic]

IPA: /kib.ri.jaːʔ/
Etymology: It is doubted that the formation, otherwise paralleled in the name of the seventh heaven عِرْبِيَاء (ʕirbiyāʔ) ~ جِرْبِياء (jirbiyāʔ), is native, since only in Ge'ez the root of ከብረ (käbrä) has acquired the meanings of “haughtiness”; كِبْر (kibr, “glory, pride, power”) also directly corresponds to Ge'ez ክብር (kəbr).
