Noun [Kabardian]

Forms: lˢağʷɛ [romanization]
Etymology: Probably formed as лъэ (lˢɛ, “foot”) + *гъуэ (*ğʷɛ, “road”), the latter found inside гъуэ-гу (ğʷɛ-gʷu). Cognate with Adyghe лъагъо (lˢağʷo). Abkhaz а-ҭлаҩа (a-tlajʷa), Abaza тлагӏва (tˡaʻʷa) are Circassian borrowings. The Abkhaz alago (“footpath”), found only in Erckert, is likewise considered a Circassian borrowing. The nature of relationship with Old Georgian ალაგი (alagi, “trail, road, way”) is uncertain.
